Running Back Drills

Weekly sequence of drills that will prepare every running back to perform on game day.
Goals:  

(1)  100% Ball Security
 (2)  75 yards after first contact
 (3)  5 explosive plays
 (4)  Out rush opponent in 4th quarter

Individual Drills:  High and Tight / Traffic or No Traffic

(1)  Ball Security
  1. Ball Handling
  2. Handoffs / Catch and Tuck / Gauntlet
  3. Pass Routes
(2)  Agility Ladder
(3)  Bag and Cone Drills

Group Drills:

 (1)  Mesh with QB (1)  Ball security with DBs (1)  Pass Pro with LBs
 (2)  Cutting (a)  Side Strip (a)  Inside 
 (3)  Finishing the run (b)  Over / Under Strip (b)  Outside

Pass Protection Drills:

  1. Bags
    1. Cuts
    2. Drive 
  2. Mirror Drills
    1. Shuffle / Step / Punch
    2. Jab the rush
    3. Engage with shuffle
    4. Engage vs 3 moves
  3. Attack the LOS
  4. Live 1 vs 1
