On behalf of the baseball coaching staff I invite you to come out to the practice and watch what we do - - please do not coach from the stands. Your ways, techniques, and ideas may not be the same as the coach and this will cause confusion and problems for your son, the players listening, and yourself. Moreover, it will be a big distraction. The baseball field is my classroom and it should be treated as such. I am a teacher of baseball and therefore, the athlete and the teacher should not be disturbed during practice. You are welcomed to watch and encourage, but allow me to teach. I have a championship program which I will implement. I am the coach and you are the all important parent. Your positive influence is vital for this program to win. Let's work together!
Games are the same way. Make it out to every game possible - - your son would enjoy it. Even if your son is not an everyday starter, your presence at the field is important to him. Be there for him whenever possible. The dugouts are strictly for baseball staff and players. All drinks are to be brought to the dugout before the game. In no other sport do parents approach the bench. We do not see a parent on the sideline for a football game, we do not see a parent on the bench in a basketball game, nor do we see a parent on the track at a track meet. The parent’s presence is vital for our success and for your son’s memories in life. The time when parents are allowed is when there is an injury to their son. Please respect the sanctity of the dugout for the good of the team.
As for equipment, all players are required to wear a protective cup at all times.
